Yenda Thalaiyila Yenna Vekkala will test your patience with no story and an extremely poor screenplay.
If you really insist on watching it, you can do so for Yogi Babu who will save the movie with a few laughs towards the end.
The plot of Yenda Thalaiyila Yenna Vekkala goes like this – Yeman (the giver of death) chooses to kill someone because he hasn’t oiled his hair – how whacky, right? That pretty much justifies the title of the movie.
To be honest, the plot has a lot of room to make a full length whacky comedy (the team has tried to make a fantasy comedy I guess).
But the plot has not been translated well on screen.
We have a hero Praveen (played by Azhar), who stalks a girl, gets to convince her, gets to sing and dance, and enjoy life while being jobless.
The first half of the film just takes its own sweet time in establishing what I’ve said in the above single line.
Around half way, you get to understand why the movie was named so.
With Yeman choosing the hero as a victim for a crazy reason has a lot of room for a fantasy comedy (as the makers claim).
But the movie doesn’t reflect a bit of either fantasy, or comedy, and rather only tests your patience.
Yogi Babu is the only hope in the movie whom you can count on for the comedy bit. Unfortunately though, he is only brought on screen after a very long while.
If he would have given a bit more screen presence, at least the movie would have been fairly entertaining.
The movie is not technically sound as well. The run time is quite a plus given you would already be looking for the exit anyway.
The BG sounds a lot like the ones we hear in TV serials. Vechi Seiraan song is the only exception.
Azhar does his job neatly. But his performance has got no scope in a rather pointless screenplay.
