Overall, Silukkuvarupatti Singam is worthy to watch if you are in for a laughter treat. If you have been stressed out and want to relax, go watch it.
Does the movie make you laugh? Yes it does, for the most part! Should you care about the story, and logic? Certainly no!
And if you can manage to tolerate the occasional gender based and “close to adult” jokes, you will enjoy Silukkuvarupatti Singam.

Right after the huge success of Ratchasan, Vishnu Vishal has taken up Silukkuvarupatti Singam which is supposed to be a full length, lightening comedy to entertain the family audience.
This notion doesn’t seem to have worked as the movie tries really hard to make us laugh.
And in the attempt to make us laugh the director (Chella Ayyavu) goes to various extents that end up either being annoying or embarassing.
However, if you are in for a laughable movie without thinking too much about anything, Silukkuvarupatti Singam will definitely quench your thirst.
Vishnu Vishal plays Sathyamoorthy, who is a careless constable. His passion for half boiled egg is overrated. It has been used as a pivotal aspect in the screenplay.
Karunakaran plays Bhaskar who is another constable that’s unlike Sathyamoorthy. He is sincere in his job but gets mocked for the same often.

Sathyamoorthy happens to cross lines with the villain Cycle Shankar, who comes to Silukkuvarupatti to murder an ex minister (played by Mansoor Ali Khan).
However his plan is collapsed by our hero as they cross lines for a silly reason and Sathyamoorthy ends up locking Cycle Shankar in jail.
Cycle Shakar manages to escape and wants to kill Sathyamoorthy by all means.
How Sathyamoorthy manages to escape Cycle Shankar and relieves himself from the complications form the rest of the story.

As you can see, this is a very simple story line, but the director manages to keep the audience hooked by generously using comedy all along.
We have a bunch of artists to help with the comedy department, but Yogi Babu stands out with his excellent timing and creative one liners.
Regina Cassandra plays Raji, Sathya’s girlfriend. The romance portion is not very pleasant to watch and it does not add any value to the movie.

Big Boss fame Oviya plays a cameo and she’s been cast in the movie just for publicity.
Vishnu Vishal presents himself in this familiar templated characterization in Silukkuvarupatti Singam and that rules out the chance of any hype for the movie.
He definitely fits the character quite perfectly and has seamlessly pulled off dialogue delivery and body language of the character Sathyamoorthy.
We have quite a few laugh worthy scenes in the movie. But some scenes involving objectification of women and cheap rape jokes could have been easily avoided.
These scenes make the movie not so family friendly, given that this is a full length comedy movie any family could easily enjoy on a weekend.
Overall, Silukkuvarupatti Singam is worthy to watch if you are in for a laughter treat. If you have been stressed out and want to relax, go watch it.
