The movie has a twin climax that it deserves.
You will leave the theatre satisfied due to the suspense you had throughout but you will also have some unanswered questions.
The movie’s plus is the script, and the minuses are complicated narration (too many sub-plots) and too many characters.
Arulnithi has a thing for choosing scripts that stand out. He has not appeared in a bunch of movies. But the ones he had appeared are so different and refreshing.
Iravukku Aayiram Kangal is one such movie – it is a thriller where the audiences are left to put together pieces of puzzle to finally identify who did a murder.
In short, a whodunnit crime thriller.
Arulnithi appears as a call taxi driver and delivers subtle emotions. His physique, emotions and dialogue delivery are perfect for any kind of scene in the movie.
The movie has a somewhat huge star cast which is a minus to some extent as it adds to complexity.
The story narration is not linear as well, so the audiences are left with confusion and curiosity at every scene.
The debutant director Mu Maran wastes no time to get into the story. The movie is tightly packed with twists and turns for all of its run time.
But some may feel a bit overwhelmed with the numerous twists. Having said that, those twists are the ones that keep you highly engaged throughout.
Bharat (Arulnithi) is a taxi driver. He happens to meet Sushila, a nurse, and they fall for each other.
Thankfully we are not tortured with too many details on “how” they fell in love.
They want to be married and live together, so they convince Sushila’s father.
Meanwhile Sushila encounters another man Ganesh (Ajmal) who seems to he a nice, helpful guy in the beginning.
But later on, she finds out his true color and that he is a womanizer.
He and two others also threaten people for money.
Now, Sushila’s friend (Rupali, played by Chaya Singh) is trapped by Ganesh.
Sushila seeks Bharat’s help in this matter. There are two others (Murugesan (Anandraj) and Narein (Aadukalam Narein)) who are affected by this three-member group of Ganesh.
Bharat and the other two people randomly visit the residence of the three-member group, but find Maaya (Suja Varunee) to be dead – Maya is one of the members of Ajmal’s three-member group!
Is that a murder? Or a suicide? If it is murder, who is the murderer?
We are taken through the complicated narration that keeps us engaging to finally unravel the mystery.
Sam CS slowly creates his own space! Recently his BG adds strength and freshness to the movies.
Since there are too many characters, the director seemed to have lost control of giving the required weight to each one of them.
Anandraj tries to impress you but his regular modulation might bore you after a while.
The women characters do their job neatly.
